What's been happening

2008

The year started slowly not least because my bike was of the road due to brake problems. The Horam cafe run was low on people but Ok and then we had more bods for Oakdene but everybody got start time wrong (inc. me!) but alls well that ends well.

First proper run of the year the old crocks run (do I mean the bikes or the riders, no those German girls were OK) was also poorly attended which is unusual. New to me this year was the Chalet Cafe on the Henfield - Cowfold road which is like the Oakdene which is no bad thing. I forgot my camera so no pics but plenty of good stuff to be seen. This was followed by the Maidstone Aces Easter Run. Not to well attended but fun nonetheless

Next up for me was Moto GP in Portugal (after the snow!) but for the club it was the Brooklands Centenary Bash in Surrey which was well attended and I took some pics.

It was a pretty good day all round and the place is well worth a visit anytime your in the area of SW Londinium.

I forgot to put the Mayday Hastings run on the Calendar but everyone knows about it anyhow and much of the Club was observed lurking about the somewhat ragged town in the glorious sunshine. The Carlisle pub was looking its age...no OK its usual rumbustious self.

The Kempton Park Show was fine with a large Auto Jumble for those into sprockets etc but in general there was rather too much rain in may.

The weather got better in June but nothing to interesting to report except for the grasstrack at the Hop farm. Things soon got better with a trip to 1000 Bikes at Mallory, even a couple of likely lads from the club made the journey. Lots of interesting things to see especially the Verdal and the sun shone.

So now we come come to the big one (no not that you naughty women). The weather was cooperative and the hordes came even the overspill station car park had plenty of bikes in it. I guess about 150 bikes at least and the band played and Rodney flew by in his microlight, anybody got a Spitfire in the shed. Well done to organiser Mark S. and all the other helpers especially that good looking bloke on the gate! Aerial Pics are by Rod the daredevil microlight man.
